Hartford approves preliminary BID special assessment resolution (Resolution No. 3778)

The Common Council adopted Resolution No. 3778, a preliminary special assessment resolution for the Business Improvement District (BID). City Clerk Shanna Kreilkamp read the public hearing notice and City Administrator Steve Volkert explained the item as an annual preliminary special assessment resolution and emphasized that participation is voluntary.
"This is an annual preliminary special assessment resolution for the BID District. This is a voluntary tax," Administrator Steve Volkert said during the public hearing. There were no appearances for or against and the hearing was closed before the council voted to adopt the resolution on a motion by Alderperson Kirley, seconded by Alderperson Pechacek.
The resolution continues the city’s routine BID assessment process and was approved unanimously. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
