The council approved a Public Works Department request to buy one International HV507-STA dump truck with plow and wing attachments in 2026 for a total of $297,906, using funds allocated in the 2027 Capital Improvement Program. Public Works Director Tim Puestow told the council that vendors indicated the price would rise by $35,000 in 2027, and staff recommended buying in 2026 to realize the savings.
"In his research it was found that the price for the dump truck would jump $35,000 in 2027 compared to 2026," Public Works Director Tim Puestow said, adding that the truck would be on the road in approximately one year. The council voted unanimously to approve the purchase on a motion by Alderperson Kirley, seconded by Alderperson Pechacek.
The purchase is funded through the 2027 CIP and is intended to ensure fleet replacement at a lower total cost. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
