Council makes contractor yards a permitted use in M-1 zoning (Ordinance No. 1538)

"Contractor Yards are a principal land use allowed by Conditional Use Permit with the M-1, Light Industrial Zoning District," Jacob Maas said, explaining the rationale for the change. The council suspended rules for immediate consideration and adopted Ordinance No. 1538 on motions that were recorded as carried unanimously.
The ordinance removes the conditional-use requirement for contractor yards in M‑1 and is intended to streamline small industrial development. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
