The administration described multiple operational steps the district will take if the board’s modification is implemented: phone banks to contact families, two in-person registration dates (Aug. 3 and Aug. 6), release of hub transportation locations on Aug. 3, and district teams to support master-schedule rework at receiving schools.
Segura said the receiving schools would be provided central supports for master scheduling, counseling and special-education case management and that principals at both Bailey and Mendez are experienced with master scheduling. He stated the district would preserve course requests "to the best of our abilities" and aim to honor students' prioritized course selections where possible, but could not guarantee every elective would remain unchanged.
Administrators emphasized that special-education supports will be tracked centrally and case managers will reach out to students once teachers return to contract, and that the district is planning allocations of special-education staff and teacher-assistant positions at each receiving campus.
