Chief Pernice presented a certified Civil Service list of two candidates and requested permission to complete background checks and hire two part-time officers; Council approved completing background checks for two candidates. After two executive-session intervals to discuss personnel and contracts, the council moved to approve a police contract for Zackery Shelly (motion by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Kerns) and recorded the motion as carried.
