Herald Square offers existing building as lower‑cost option for county center of government

Lubin emphasized flexibility on design, leasing or sale options, ADA access possibilities, and the potential to revitalize the downtown commons economically. "We can significantly reduce the disruption to county services by drastically reducing the time to completion," he said.
The public pitch drew an acknowledgement from legislators and will be considered alongside other proposals during ongoing center‑of‑government planning work; county planning and facilities committees continue to examine logistics and timelines.
