Zoning board recommends Sean Osborne to fill vacant seat

The Dorset Zoning Board of Adjustment voted 5-0 on Oct. 21, 2024 to recommend Sean Osborne to the Selectboard to fill the seat vacated by the passing of Dave Wilson. Chair Kevin O’Toole opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Dorset Town Office and noted no conflicts of interest were declared.

S. Osborne introduced himself as a prospective candidate to fill the position vacated by the passing of Dave Wilson. He lives in Dorset and owns a business in Manchester Center. Chair Kevin O’Toole had explained the board’s responsibilities — hearing applications for variances, conditional uses, appeals of the zoning administrator, and expansions of nonconforming structures and uses — and noted the board meets as needed on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

A motion to recommend Sean Osborne’s appointment was made by Martha Merwin and seconded by Ed Tanenhaus; the motion carried by a 5-0-0 vote. The meeting was adjourned after a motion by Chair Kevin O’Toole, seconded by Bruce Ketcham, at approximately 7:15 p.m. Tyler Yandow, Zoning Administrator, is listed as respectfully submitting the minutes.
