At a Sept. 24 special meeting, the Big Stone County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2024-22, approving the proposed 2025 budget and establishing a preliminary net levy of $6,788,000. Commissioner Athey moved to adopt the resolution; Chairman Roger Sandberg seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The resolution as entered in the minutes reads: "2024-22 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the proposed 2025 budget be approved and the net levy be established at $6,788,000." Board members also emphasized that this is a preliminary levy and that the board will continue to review the budget with the intention to lower it before the final levy is approved. The special meeting began at 1:00 PM and was adjourned at 1:10 PM; Coordinator Pam Rud attested to the minutes.
