The Big Stone County Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 24 to rescind a Sept. 17 motion and resolution that had adopted the county's preliminary 2025 levy, after staff identified a correction to previously presented data. Commissioner Athey moved to rescind the earlier action; Commissioner Klages seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Board members said the correction to the earlier numbers required further review of the levy and budget before the board signs off on a final figure. The board gave direction that staff and commissioners would continue revisiting the budget with the stated intention of lowering the levy prior to final approval. The special meeting was called to order by Chairman Roger Sandberg at 1:00 PM and adjourned at 1:10 PM.
