Staff reviewed the status of Ho-Chunk funds, explaining some grant matches remain assigned to multi-year projects while other funds remain unassigned. Staff said the county has until 2027 to spend a specific pre-disaster flood-resilience match and that several projects are still active with extensions granted by the account development committee.
Committee members discussed whether to hold back a portion of funds for emergent needs, whether to change the application rubric or allocation strategy, and the timing of reviews. The presenter said the 2026 application is largely the same as 2025 and that applications were circulated on July 6; home committees will review first and then send recommendations to finance. The committee agreed to review potential rubric or allocation changes in August so any revisions can be reflected before final funding decisions.
