Ford County Board approves routine business, appoints Kelsie Vaughn as clerk and declares vacancy

The board appointed Kelsie Vaughn as Ford County Clerk & Recorder after a motion from Greg Niewold and a second from Sarah Mussman; the motion carried by voice vote. The board also declared a vacancy for the Ford County Board District 1 seat after a motion from Niewold and a second from Mussman.
Multiple committee items were handled by voice vote during the meeting: claims recommended by committees were approved, the Board of Review bills were approved, and the board approved disposal of certain Clerk & Recorder records on a motion from Tom McQuinn with a second from Lestey King. “C. Ihrke made the motion to accept all submitted Elected Official/Dept. Head Reports,” the minutes state.
The meeting closed at 8:32 P.M. after Mr. Kerber moved to adjourn and Mr. May seconded. The next regular meeting was scheduled for June 8, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.
