Commission approves rezoning of 22 acres near Corinne to RR-5 (Ordinance 6-51)

Scott Lyons, county community-development staff, presented Ordinance 6-51, a request to change zoning for approximately 22 acres near 5350 West / 4800 North in the Corinne area from A-20 (agriculture, 20-acre minimum) to RR-5 (rural residential, 5-acre minimum). Lyons said the planning commission held a public hearing on May 21 and found the proposal consistent with relevant approval standards; the surrounding area includes agricultural parcels and a couple of new homes.
Commissioner Lee Perry moved to adopt Ordinance 6-51 and a second was recorded. The commission voted 'Aye' to approve the rezone. Staff said the applicant plans an initial house for the parent landowner with the possibility of future 5-acre lots for family members.
