Mayor: township seeks animal-shelter solution after contract loss

Mayor Brown reported during public comment that the township previously lost its contract with the regional animal shelter and that the Township struggled to find a new shelter willing to accept animals from outside their towns. Brown said he contacted the county and the township’s 3rd District legislators; he said the County is aware of the problem and is working on funding options for a shelter solution. The Committee did not announce an immediate replacement contract at the meeting; the update was recorded as an operational concern the municipality must resolve.
