Board approves $10,000 ARPA contribution for Minerva Valley broadband; grant with Colo Telephone also on consent agenda

Separately, the Board approved on the consent agenda a grant agreement with Colo Telephone Company using ARPA funds of up to $30,000 for the county’s Broadband Expansion Plan; the agreement is effective upon execution through December 31, 2026. Board members discussed service coverage gaps and coordination with Iowa State University for institutional roads maintenance earlier on the consent agenda.
The approved ARPA funding is intended to support fixed wireless deployment in an underserved community; staff will execute agreements and monitor completion per grant terms.
