Story County opens bids for multi-site culvert and RCB projects; staff to review

County Engineer Darren Moon and Assistant Engineer Tyler Sparks opened bids for multiple RCB culvert projects across Story County. For the Lincoln and Union township pair, Peterson Contractors submitted the lowest combined bid at $170,077.11; Progressive Structures and Rognes Bros also submitted bids. For the Collins and Milford township pair, Progressive Structures submitted the lowest combined bid at $314,756.20, with other bids up to $404,188.32.
Moon said he will review the submitted bid bonds and the bid documents and return to the Board at a future meeting with a recommendation for contract award. The openings recorded bidders' names, their locations (e.g., Luxemburg, Lake Mills, Reinbeck), and total project bid amounts for each pairing.
