Parish council authorizes condemnation and abatement for two nuisance properties

The St. Martin Parish Council on July 7 authorized the Parish President to proceed with Orders of Condemnation and Abatement for two properties found to be nuisances under Section 24-105 of the St. Martin Parish Code of Ordinances.
The first property, 1083 Elus Drive in Breaux Bridge (owned by Carlton Boudreaux), was considered in the Rule to Show Cause. Director of Planning and Zoning Morgan Allemond presented the file and Compliance Officer Ronald Solarie submitted photographs; the Council found abandoned, dilapidated and/or dangerous structures on the premises and authorized condemnation (motion by Carla JeanBatiste; second by David Poirier; unanimous vote).
The second property, 1060 Pointe Claire Road in St. Martinville (owned by Kevin and Shelly Domingue), was also found by the Council to be a nuisance after Mr. Domingue addressed the panel and staff presented photographic evidence of overgrown grass, inoperable vehicles, appliances, trash and debris. The Council authorized an Order of Condemnation and Abatement (motion by Carla JeanBatiste; second by Hoyt Louviere; unanimous vote).
Each action references Section 24-105 of the St. Martin Parish Code of Ordinances as the legal basis for condemnation and abatement. The motions were recorded and declared adopted on July 7, 2026.
