Sylvania Prevention Alliance marks 40 years, seeks council support for events and programs

McCann highlighted SPA’s programs, volunteer and professional staffing, and several upcoming events: a Relay Challenge on May 9 to connect youth and community and a “Prom for Prevention” gala on April 18 to mark SPA’s 40th anniversary. He said SPA delivers “more than 22,000 hours of services impacting over a 118,000 individuals” in a typical year and emphasized the role of prevention in building community resilience. “Strong kids equals strong community,” McCann said.
Several council members praised SPA’s long record of service and encouraged public support and sponsorships; McCann noted literature with sponsorship opportunities was available for anyone unable to attend the gala. Council members thanked SPA for its continued work and engagement with youth and the community.
