Resident raises neighborhood-watch and contested-corner title issue; attorney says village must file to acquire title

During Additional Business a resident identified as Alice asked whether the Neighborhood Watch remains active and requested that a police report be obtained. Trustees noted the need to follow up with law enforcement if Neighborhood Watch is still operating.

Trustees also raised a longstanding concern about a property at a corner the village believes may have an ownership question because a nearby resident has maintained it for more than 20 years. Attorney Alster advised the board that the Village would need to file an action to acquire title if it intends to pursue ownership. Other brief items recorded included a request for furnace duct cleaning, Bill Hodges confirming chlorine tablets are being added to the drain, and a note that street signs have been completed.
