"We announced Plucked, which is a 65 acre greenhouse... They are a 105,000,000 in capital investment and a 118 new jobs," Shrewsbury said, describing one of the region’s large projects. She also described work at Pathway Park in Chilhowey and the organization’s role administering regional industrial facility authorities and lead generation.
Shrewsbury outlined workforce programs that connect K–12 and community colleges with local industry and described several grant‑funded studies and site assessments (Timmons Group site study; Wildwood Site 1 due diligence; Pathway Park access analysis funded by AEP and Wellspring Foundation). Board members pressed about pivoting former tobacco acreage to new agribusiness uses; Shrewsbury said agribusiness and greenhouse projects are target industries and staff will follow up with local partners.
