The City of Montrose approved a contract award and resolution to replace the fire station roof after staff described persistent leaks and the structure’s age.
Kevin, speaking for the fire department, said the roof is about 30 years old and that repeated patching has become more expensive over time. He presented two bids and recommended awarding the project to Kingdom Builders of Howard Lake with a not-to-exceed cost of $130,000 to cover the replacement and incidental items. "The roof is now 30 years old," he said. The council voted to approve resolution 2026-25 and to authorize city officials to sign the contract documents; the motion passed 5-0.
Council members asked procedural questions and confirmed authority to sign documents; staff said warranty handling differed by bidder and that the city had budget flexibility to absorb incidental costs.
