Interim Public Works Director Ronnie Long told the council a recent inspection found rotted fascia, damaged plywood and possible truss deterioration on the police department and council chamber roof. He said the last documented replacement permit was from 2003 and estimated the roof age at about 23 years; a contractor estimate put repair/replacement costs in the $58,000–$63,000 range and staff recommended budgeting $65,000 to cover the work and contingencies.
A council member moved to adopt budget amendment Resolution 450‑26 to fund the work, and the motion passed on roll call. Staff said the work will go out to bid and that gutters and fascia issues will be addressed as part of the repairs.
