The New Castle Zoning Board of Appeals voted to grant Jack Ong Realty a six‑month extension, with a year to complete the project, after the applicant cited prolonged utility reviews that delayed construction.
At the July 29 meeting, the applicant’s representative said Con Edison had informed them “as of 2 weeks ago, we got a response from Con Edison that they're at the final stages of getting this to us,” and said that on that basis the team expected to begin work in the coming weeks. The chair asked whether there were any changes to the previously approved plans; the applicant replied the project would be built "exactly the way it was originally approved." The board’s motion to grant a six‑month extension (with a year for completion) passed unanimously in a roll call.
