Round Valley MAC tables multiple requests — fire hydrants, growers' enforcement letter, safe housing and more

During its Oct. 2 meeting the Round Valley Area MAC tabled several longstanding items for further work and for placement on the Nov. 6 agenda. Tabled items included a county noise ordinance update, a draft letter supporting the Covelo fire-hydrant project, a requested letter about perceived lopsided enforcement of county cannabis laws on behalf of legal growers, creation of safe housing on Forest Service land at the Covelo Ranger Station for essential workers, ongoing concerns about uncontained and abandoned dogs, and an update on the Safe Routes to School program.
Rio Cardone requested a letter to the Board of Supervisors "on behalf of legal growers" arguing enforcement is lopsided; Supervisor Haschak said he "can take a RVAMAC letter to the BOS on this issue." The MAC did not finalize these items and deferred them to the November meeting for follow-up and potential draft letters.
