Local safety group urges county road signs use familiar names to aid emergency crews

The Fire and Disaster Preparedness Group told the Round Valley Area MAC that many valley intersections lack signs displaying commonly used names, and instead show only county road designations such as "CR337F," which could confuse emergency responders dispatched to local names like Charlie Hurt, Hopper or Ledger.
Councillors agreed to research official road-name records. Supervisor John Haschak and Lourance Hall said they would visit county offices to identify the official names and determine whether new signage can be installed; no formal action was taken at the December meeting.
