City Engineer told council that Xcel Energy submitted two streetlight agreement packages for the Crystal Lane/1st Street North area and the Lemberman industrial area. The Crystal Lane package was identified at "$173,051.98," and staff said the city had originally budgeted $208,000 for the broader effort but that the final numbers exceeded earlier estimates due to added wire, conduit and lighting counts.
Council authorized staff to execute the agreements and asked the engineer to gather post-implementation unit-cost data to improve future estimates. The engineer said construction scheduling and final design will follow payment and that the replacement work is expected to take place in 2026 with additional phases in subsequent years.
