Village officials reviewed an update from SIAP Electric Aggregation on April 7. The minutes record the current base rate as $0.08760 per kilowatt-hour and note that the current market-based 12-month term pricing was in the range of $0.095 per kWh; SIAP planned to monitor market conditions and lock a base rate before April 11 so the village could mail required 21-day opt-out notices prior to enrollment. The minutes also note Ameren’s price-to-compare for the summer period (June 1–Sept. 30) will be announced in late May, with the non-summer period to be announced in late September.
Board members did not take formal action at the meeting; SIAP will communicate lock-in figures and help the village inform residents. Because enrollment requires a mailed opt-out notice and a 21-day period, the village must set a rate in advance of Ameren’s final price-to-compare for the summer period.
