Makanda board approves $24,510 street-and-road oil-and-chip plan, to seek MFT approval

Trustee Hilliard presented the Village of Makanda Annual Street & Road Report and outlined recommended oil-and-chip work for several subdivisions.
Trustee Ross identified required ditch cleaning on Crackers Neck and recommended a double seal for Misty Meadows and Hartline and a single seal for Poplar Camp and Upper Eastern Star. The board recorded an estimated total cost of $24,510 and discussed contacting Illini Asphalt to confirm pricing. Trustee Wolff moved to accept the report and proceed with the work; Trustee Ross seconded and all present voted yes.
The board said it will complete paperwork to request Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds from IDOT for approval at the June meeting, and noted coordination is pending with Illini Asphalt for scheduling and final pricing.
