Board approves consent agenda, pulls two items for separate consideration

The Auburn Union Elementary School District board moved and approved the consent agenda with the exceptions of items 8(g) and 8(j). Trustee Jason (speaker S8) requested those pulls during the consent review and later explained that item 8(j) is a grant that supports moving cafeterias toward scratch and organic cooking.
After discussion, the board approved the remaining consent items by roll call and later voted to approve item 8(j). "This lines up with that — cutting out processed foods and organic foods — and I think that is gonna be a key factor in behavioral health," Trustee Jason said when urging support for the grant. The motions were seconded and approved; the clerk conducted roll call votes that recorded ayes and closed the consent items.
