Staff sent certified letters in August and November 2024 and delivered notice to the physical locations; the address on file was returned as not current and staff estimated unpaid taxes using historical payment patterns.
For Omeo Suites (Casa Mariquita) the council approved revocation of business license number 011090. For the separate Omeo Hotel matter, staff said a new operator has engaged with the city and remitted taxes for the most recent period, but the revocation before council applied to the prior operator for the period through May 2025. Council voted on both revocations (recorded votes: consent and revocation votes later show unanimous approval with one absence). Staff said revocation is an initial step; enforcement (including cease-and-desist and legal follow-up for outstanding taxes) would be handled by legal and code enforcement.
