Administrators told the board the district expects several retirements over the next two years that could affect staffing needs. AJ Dombeck said the district will likely see "2–4 retirements" at the end of the 2026–27 school year and two more the following year, and that depending on which positions are vacated some roles may not be replaced.
Chair Jacqueline Meyer and board member Andrew Graham indicated they were comfortable not replacing a retiring elementary teacher while holding other elementary positions intact. The board asked staff to model the budgetary effect of different replacement decisions and return with those figures at the next meeting.
