Superintendent Burris to present budget-reduction proposal March 9; board records positive mid-year review

Superintendent Susan Burris told the Litchfield School Board on Feb. 23 that a budget reduction proposal and results from a community survey will be shared with the board at its March 9 meeting. The update was provided verbally as part of the regular reports to the board.
The minutes also include a closed-session summary of Burris's mid-year evaluation, submitted by Chair Alex Carlson under Minnesota Statutes 13D.05. The summary states the board "is very pleased with the quality work and progress that has been made in the past 6 months in the goals areas of: Connection, Collaboration and Coherence." The minutes say the board will continue those goals for the remainder of the school year and that Ms. Burris will report on them in monthly reports.
No formal vote was required for the superintendent's update; the March 9 meeting will include a formal presentation of the budget-reduction proposal and the community-survey results as recorded in the minutes.
