Superintendent: cashless concessions not feasible now; new behavior supports and 'second-chance' breakfast planned

Superintendent Johnson updated the board on operational and student-support plans ahead of the school year. He said a proposed cashless option for the school would not work at this time for concessions and that a work session about the arena roof is scheduled next week.
Johnson thanked staff for readying housing for new teacher Heidi Pura and said “the mentor program has had a couple very productive meetings.” He told the board the district will implement a new behavior system and a guided study hall and that five new staff members are joining this year. He also described a change to the cell phone policy that will use pockets in the old small computer lab and announced a second-chance breakfast for grades 7–12 at 10 a.m. each morning.
Johnson noted that locker room floors remain unfinished and that staff and administration will follow up on that facilities issue at the scheduled work session.
