KMS school board approves routine business, accepts staff resignation

The KMS Public Schools Board of Education convened Oct. 13, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.; Chair Todd Rudningen called the meeting to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Jeremy Winter moved to approve the meeting agenda; Harmon Wilts seconded and the motion carried.
The board approved the minutes of Sept. 9, 2025, on a motion from Sean Collins and a second from Sam Kavanagh. The board also approved bills and electronic funds payments; the minutes record a roll-call vote listing Winter, Collins, Olson, Kavanagh, Finstrom, Wilts and Rudningen.
The board approved an Assurance of Compliance and MSHSL Form A and Form B resolutions by recorded motions. The minutes show motions and seconds for these items and record their approval.
Under personnel actions the board approved the resignation of Cassandra Tensen Thorson; the motion to accept her resignation was made by Harmon Wilts and seconded by Jeremy Winter. No additional details about the resignation were recorded in the minutes.
