Floodwood Public School District board approves calendar, policies and senior trip; reviews finances

The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 698 met Monday, April 27, 2026, in the School Board Conference Room. Chair Leanaya Miller called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Board members Dave Rohde, Pete Kramer and Kellee Young were present. Principal Amanda Fjeld and Administrative Assistant Ashley Engh were also in attendance.
During a meeting dominated by routine business, the board approved the updated 2026–2027 K–12 calendar and adopted changes on final reading to district policies 410, 503, 515, 530, 615 and 701. The board also approved nonsubstantial changes to policy 524. Financial business included approval of the March monthly claims and cash flow report; payroll for the period totaled $178,051.83 and accounts payable totaled $91,832.16. The board voted unanimously on motions throughout the meeting.
Administrators submitted reports from Activities Director Frank Bartsch, Principal Amanda Fjeld and Superintendent Sue Hoeft; Facilities Manager Allyn Clark did not submit a written report, and board member Pete Kramer asked that Clark's report be circulated to the board as soon as possible. The meeting concluded with acknowledgments for Class of 2026 valedictorian Claire Johnson and salutatorian Isabella Hanke and adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
