The board approved the After School Education & Safety (ACES) plan required for grant acceptance after discussion and a suggested language change. Trustee comments led staff to replace a phrase referencing the Triple Play program with language taken from the Boys & Girls Club description. "Their website says Triple Play is a suite of 3 targeted programs intentionally written to build the skills, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors essential to an overall healthy lifestyle," a trustee read into the record during discussion.
Staff indicated the CDE requested clarifications and that approval would allow the district to accept the related grant award for next year. The motion to approve the ACES plan with the suggested language change was seconded and carried unanimously.
