Board hears LCAP overview as staff previews 2025–26 goals and metrics

The Auburn Union School District Board opened a public hearing on the district’s 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan and heard a presentation from Superintendent Britney Meyer and Chief Business Officer Jeremy explaining the LCAP’s three‑year cycle and community engagement process. "The LCAP is long, but we will try to be relatively brief," Superintendent Meyer said as she introduced the presentation.

Meyer told trustees the LCAP concentrates on three overarching goals: academic progress, safety, and educational partner engagement. The plan ties specific actions to budget line items and outcome metrics. As an example, staff added i‑Ready progress‑monitoring metrics to goal 1 after adopting i‑Ready this year. "One of the changes you'll see in this year's LCAP under goal 1 is that we added metrics that come from I Ready," Meyer said. CBO Jeremy outlined the district’s approach to aligning actions and dollars: actions are budget‑linked and outcome data will be used to judge effectiveness.

The board heard details on safety work under goal 2 (behavioral threat assessment training, ALICE active‑threat response, site wellness teams) and engagement efforts under goal 3 (growth of ELAC/DELAC attendance and inclusion of student LCAP PAC members). Meyer said the LCAP will be brought back for adoption at the next scheduled meeting with any modifications from tonight incorporated. No public comment was offered at the LCAP hearing and the board closed the LCAP portion of the meeting.
