The Village of Mapleton convened a special meeting on Nov. 20, 2024. The agenda and minutes record a series of administrative actions: Mayor Rench appointed Terry Francis Wright as Village Clerk (Wright was sworn in), trustees voted to add Wright to the village bank accounts in replacement of Steven Morris, the board approved a two-year extension of the waste-collection agreement with Area Disposal Service (aka GFL Environmental Inc.), and the board adopted Ordinance No. 2024-11-20-01 to set garbage rates at $13.50 per month for Jan. 1, 2025–Dec. 31, 2026.
The minutes record roll-call votes for motions related to hiring, bank signatory changes, the contract extension and the ordinance; each recorded vote shows the four trustees present voting yes while two trustees (Terri Baker and Neil Viviano) were absent. The meeting also includes a public-comment note from Eric Shangraw of GFL explaining the extension option. The transcript header lists meeting times (6:30 p.m. and a call to order at 7:00 p.m.) but the minutes note the meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.; these items are inconsistent in the record and should be clarified in the official minutes if time-of-day is material.
