"We should update it and then present it next month," Atkinson said.
The commission discussed classifying contributions as donations (rather than sponsorships) in order to preserve flexibility while honoring donors with signage and recognition. Members also agreed to add a donor flyer and outreach materials to a shared Google Drive so members can use the template when meeting potential sponsors. The group emphasized limiting use of city funds for refreshments—one commissioner said she “feels very strongly that we do not use City money for that”—and tracking donations as offsets to expenses.
Next steps: the commission will refine cost estimates for concerts and other events, finalize the donor flyer and outreach list, and present the updated ACC 2026 budget worksheet at the next regularly scheduled meeting on April 1.
