Deputy County Clerk Courtney Lyons presented a resolution to update the county's meeting-notice procedure following passage of Legislative Bill 596. "This is the resolution that we talked about a couple of weeks ago that is a result of the passage of LB 596," Lyons said, adding the primary change is moving from notice for each meeting to publishing the regular schedule in the paper four times a year.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval; the board adopted the resolution on roll call. Staff said the change updates the county's notice requirements to reflect the new state law and will streamline public notices while maintaining the published schedule as the public record of meeting dates.
Courtney Lyons represented the Clerk's office in explaining the procedural change; the board did not discuss additional operational changes at the meeting.
