Board approves $493,730.12 in September bills; hires staff and accepts resignations

The ISD #306 Board of Education on Oct. 13 unanimously approved the district's September expenditures and a package of personnel actions. The board approved checks 53676–53737 for $126,967.28 and wires and ACH payments of $366,762.84, for a grand total of $493,730.12. The motion was made by Karl Beck and seconded by Andrew Graham and passed on a roll-call vote.
The board also approved three hires: Nabiel Kanani as the Monday night ECFE teacher; Orpha Abuga as an elementary special education teacher effective Oct. 10, 2025; and Lauren Foster as the school nurse. The board accepted Gerald Moe’s resignation as junior high boys basketball coach and accepted Stacie Shuster’s resignation from the Laporte School Board effective Oct. 2, 2025. The board additionally approved a resolution to accept donations. All items in the motion were approved unanimously.
