Board approves July financials, several personnel actions and donations

At its Aug. 18 special meeting the Laporte Public School District board approved July financials totaling $736,116.68, accepted two resignations, approved multiple hires and ratified a Property Services Supervisor contract and a donations resolution.
The Board of Education of ISD #306 on Aug. 18 approved the district’s July financials and a package of personnel and contract items. The board approved checks 53574–53589 and 53593–53613 totaling $170,660.13, wires and ACH of $565,450.55, for a grand total of $736,116.68. The action passed on a unanimous roll call (members present: Jacqueline Meyer, Jessica Howg, Stacie Shuster and Karl Beck).
The board also approved Jeffery Schmidtke’s Property Services Supervisor contract for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 school years; accepted Jessica Howg’s resignation from the Laporte School Board effective at the close of the Aug. 18 meeting; accepted Brianna Sander’s resignation as school nurse effective Aug. 31, 2025; hired Daniel Warrington as a nighttime custodian; and hired Lauren Foster as school nurse. The board approved a resolution to accept donations. These items were bundled in a single motion (mover Karl Beck; second Jessica Howg) and recorded as unanimous.
