The ISD 2071 School Board advanced several facility improvements at its Feb. 17 meeting, including approving bids related to track runways and an elementary LED lighting upgrade.
Superintendent Benson told the board that proposed track and LED lighting upgrades are on the agenda "with approximately $300,000 remaining in referendum funds." The board approved a bid for application to the pole vault and long/triple jump runways from Fisher Tracks and Nielsen Blacktopping, and later approved the elementary LED lighting upgrades quote from Dave Carlson Electric.
Board approval of these items clears the way for contractors to schedule work; the minutes note additional long-term facilities maintenance needs over the next decade, including roof sections and potential sprinkler upgrades at the secondary school, which the district will include in future planning.
