Floodwood School officials told the Community Education Advisory Council that major summer construction will begin May 29 and that the building will be closed to the public for the summer months. "Floodwood School Construction Starting May 29th. The entire building will be off limits to everyone for the summer months," the council recorded in meeting notes.
School officials Sue Hoeft and Amanda Fjeld provided a detailed explanation of the construction plans and timelines and discussed how the closure will affect community education programming and facility use. Council members were informed that programs and facility access must be adjusted for the closure period and that staff will communicate specifics to users ahead of the May shutdown.
