District staff to propose revisions to 11 policies at Jan. 27 business meeting

Assistant Superintendent Tricio St. Michoels presented a staff review of eleven policy revisions slated for board consideration at the Jan. 27 business meeting. Policies under review include Policy 506 (Code of Ethics and Behaviors), Policy 606 (Textbooks and Instructional Materials), Policy 712 (Video & Electronics Surveillance other than on school transportation vehicles), Policy 722 (Public Data Request), Policy 417 (Chemical Use & Abuse), Policy 515 (Student Promotion, Retention, and Program Design), Policy 519 (Interviews of Students by Outside Agencies), Policy 601 (School District Curriculum and Instruction Goals), Policy 616 (School District System Accountability), Policy 621 (Literacy and the READ Act), and Policy 709 (Student Transportation Safety Policy).
St. Michaels said the policies will be proposed for action at the Jan. 27 business meeting, giving the board time to review the draft revisions. The board did not vote on the policies at this meeting; formal action is scheduled for the January meeting.
