The Menahga Public School District board voted unanimously to accept letters of resignation from three employees: Kayla Huttunen (elementary teacher), effective Feb. 25, 2026; Tim Coy (bus driver), effective Feb. 13, 2026; and James Roth (athletic coordinator), effective March 11, 2026. The minutes include expressions of thanks for their service.
In separate formal resolutions introduced on statutory authority, the board unanimously adopted motions to non-renew the probationary teaching contracts of Essie Neumann and Logan Caron. The resolution language recorded in the minutes states: "BE IT RESOLVED, by the School Board of Independent District No. 0821, that pursuant to Minn. Stat. 122A.40, subd. 5 and the District Master Agreement, the teaching contract of [the probationary teacher] shall be non-renewed at the end of the 2025-2026 school year effective June 30, 2026." Andrea Haverinen introduced the Neumann resolution and Cherie Peterson introduced the Caron resolution; both were adopted unanimously according to the minutes.
