Board approves interim assistant principal and interim athletic director

The Pelham Union Free School District Board of Education approved two interim administrative appointments at its June 10 meeting. Superintendent Dr. Chapman recommended Jeanette Connolly for interim assistant principal at Pelham Middle School and Robert (Rob) Castagna for interim director of health, physical education and athletics. "I'm honored and grateful for this opportunity to serve as the assistant principal of Pelham Middle School," Connolly said after being introduced.
Dr. Chapman cited Connolly's work with the Bridge program, her role coordinating the freshman transition program, and 19 years in Pelham when recommending her. Castagna—introduced as having served roughly 11 years as an athletics director in nearby districts and a long coaching career—told the board he was "ready to roll up my sleeves" and begin work. The board confirmed both appointments by voice vote; members answered "Aye" and the motions carried.
