Plain City introduces communications manager, retools finance and facilities roles

Village Administrator Lupton presented a package of job-description updates at the Feb. 10 meeting. She said the communications manager position was established in the 2025 budget with estimated hiring in March or April 2025 and recommended renaming the accounting clerk position to finance assistant to better reflect duties including accounts payable/receivable and payroll backup.

Lupton also proposed creating a facilities technician to consolidate maintenance responsibilities for restrooms, park shelters and new facilities (not an additional headcount) and recommended retitling development manager to development director without changing salary ranges. Councilmembers asked clarifying questions about common industry titles for finance roles and expressed general support for beginning the reading process on the updates.
