Juliana Lund told the committee that House Bill 1, the state’s operating budget, is "just under 47,000,000,000 at 46,200,000,000 to be exact for ordinary operating expenses," and that the bill includes just over $4 billion for the Minimum Foundation Program (MFP). She also noted a $250,000 allocation in HB 1 to support programming at the Leah Chase School, requested by Senator DuPlessis.
Lund said the district will continue to monitor the MFP and the state’s budget process, and flagged the MFP task force that will work on a potential restructured formula to improve transparency and funding predictability. Staff told the committee they plan to attend task-force meetings and return with updates.
