Board approves annual housing support and service agreements for developmental and supportive services

Derek Voss, director of public health and building services, presented a set of annual housing support and purchase‑of‑service agreements the county executes each year to allow providers to access state medical assistance and housing support dollars for residents in group homes and assisted‑living settings. Items included agreements with Lutheran Social Services for group homes, Ridgeview assisted living (International Falls) and a purchase service agreement for the Developmental Achievement Center in Northome.
Voss also presented a renewal of a pre‑petition screening agreement with Tiffany Dobbs to perform mandated court‑ordered screenings related to competency and commitment proceedings, explaining that the county contracts so as to avoid conflicts of interest. A service agreement with REMS for semi‑independent living skills (work skills, life skills, home skills) was also approved.
All items were moved and approved by voice vote; Voss noted these are routine annual agreements required to access state funds and to ensure services for developmentally disabled residents.
