"We received a request to support their municipality with making a request to PennDOT to study the area," staff said, noting residents in Salisbury had complained about brake‑retarder noise and that any resulting signage might need to be placed in Lower Macungie to provide advance warning. Staff said Salisbury offered to maintain the signs if PennDOT’s study recommends them.
Staff emphasized enforcement would be by local ordinance if restrictions are adopted. The board asked staff to bring a formal letter and the paperwork back for consideration; no formal vote was taken at the workshop. Chair opened the next agenda item after members expressed no objection to staff proceeding with the requested outreach to Salisbury Township and PennDOT.
